FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Answers You Need

HOW DOES ORIENTATION WORK?

Great question! During orientation, we let the newbie sniff the backyard area alone to slowly get them used to their surroundings. We then bring out our more submissive and relaxed dogs one at a time. If all goes well, we will eventually have all of our dogs out with the new dog. Orientations are complimentary, but must be scheduled ahead of time. Orientation is a great way for us to get a feel of the dog and see if Zen Dog would be the right fit for them! If you would like a tour of our facility, during orientation would be the perfect time to ask!

DO YOU ACCEPT ALL DOGS?

At Zen Dog, we don't discriminate on breed or size. That being said, no dog is guaranteed to pass orientation. The well-being of our dogs is of the utmost importance to us and we will not allow dogs who show aggressive behavior to put our dogs at risk.

HOW DO PAYMENTS WORK?

We put your card information on file for a quick, seamless pickup.

There are options to use cash or check to avoid a 3% surcharge. Any check should be made out to "PetVet".

DO THE DOGS GET ANY TIME TO REST DURING THE DAY?

Yes! We bring the dogs inside for an hour of rest time mid-day, 1pm-2pm, and again at the end of the day, 4pm-6pm, during our busiest pick-up time.

WHERE ARE THE DOGS WHEN THEY AREN'T OUTSIDE?

Depends on the dog! We have four rooms that are divided up depending on the personality and size of the dogs. The Old Man Room is for our older pups, the Big Room and Second Room are for our bigger and more energetic dogs, and our Puppy Room is for young and small dogs. We also have kennels for disruptive or destructive dogs!

WHAT VACCINES ARE REQUIRED?

All dogs must be up to date on their Rabies, Distemper, and Canine Influenza Vaccines.
We require kennel cough, also known as Bordetella, and a fecal test every six months.
